In looking back at all the
photographs of my Uncle Sol,
I noticed the striking difference
in his visage
between the portrait from
officer's candidate
school and the one made in
Paris in 1945.
Perhaps war, indeed, takes
its toll.

I have learned a great deal
from preparing this site. The work has caused
me to research the web to
find out more information about the war
during which I was only a
child. I learned more about the way
in which sites are prepared
and am forever grateful for
the help that was available
from family and
friends wherever needed.
Most of all, in my attemprt
to bring a part of my uncle's life
to everyone else,
I re-discovered the love
and admiration I always had for him.
