...and the words of others


The photo on the right was taken on February 16,1943 in San Francisco.
The inscription on the back 
was written by Zelda, who
later became his wife.
(Even though he promised 
to wait for ME till I 
grew up!)

 

 As you can see, my uncle always enjoyed his cigars.



The man standing to the right of Sol is 
Marvin, who.later became his brother-in-law.  He was stationed 
in France at the same time.



 

In 1944, he was already in France.



In February 1945, my uncle
was in Paris, France.  The portrait
on the right was taken there.

The original photo that I have is
dog-eared and has thumb tack
holes on the corners.
I always kept it in my room until
he came home.  I have
attempted to repair it 
as well as I could.
